Hi, my name is a Don Mccully, currently I live in Northeast Oregon on the shore of Wallowa Lake.

I put this site together to give a little different view of the Icefield, trying to capture a feeling of how much snow used to accumulate every winter and some of the interesting projects I have been involved with over the years.

My first season was in 1982, I went as an undergraduate geology student. During that first year, I managed to fix a few different things, enough that it was proposed to have me put an addition on the Library at Camp 17 in 1983. I accepted the project and that was the beginning of building buildings, improving radio communications and working on Thiokols.

All of this added up to a quick 15 seasons on the Icefield with many stories and adventures as a result.

Now I am basically just a computer geek, learning Java et al, and moving to Alaska as soon as the house sells (the house sold so I am North to Alaska in March).

End Of The Season

In case you were wondering,
I am holding a toasted peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
